Mess’ Up, Arrow, Luchadores & Asian Restaurants

With episode 2, The Rolistes Podcast is messier than ever and heavy on the French accent. Apologies,we are still getting our act sorted.

Together with Xany and Haqadosch we find out that recording a podcast while attempting to play board games is a bad idea.

In addition to the next segment of our interview with Kundin, we did manage however to discuss wrestling, covering the Arrow vs Stardust feud as well as the tabletop RPG Luchadores, before moving onto the subject of Japanese, Korean and Chinese restaurants in London.

This episode is much longer than what I aim for.

I will try to be more disciplined next time.

Thanks for listening and please, please leave me comments through one of the following.

  1. Playing the game and saying what happens in the game is actually OK but talking about something else is too difficult. Maybe trying a game that allows stories would be very cool.
The moment of interview “in depth” with Kundir is also very nice.
Having someone explaining his/her fandom works well too.

Still in the learning curve but some gems are showing already. Maybe find a way to plan and lead the podcast into one direction only could be a plus.

  2. I don’t think we will do a “playing game” thing again.

If we would it would “just” to test/review that game which I beleive is very time consuming to be done properly. This is something I don’t think I want to invest myself in and something other podcasts and vloggers already do quite well.

I think future episodes will fall in either of the two following categories:

    – Episodes about one person / somebody’s interview.

However, there couldt be two of us to interview that person (I prefer to keep the number of people around the table at a maximum of 3).

    – Episodes on a single subject.

For instance this one should have been only about wrestling and we could have had one only about East Asia. That doesn’t mean we could not speak about different things but those would have to be related. For example as part of a Wrestling episode we could discuss the general subject of wrestling, Arrow vs Stardust, Luchadores… For an East Asia episode we could have talked not only about our favourite restaurants but also Legend of Five Rings, Qin and Korean or Japanese cinema.

In addtion to the above, I will keep the “What you are reading? What are you gonna read?” section at the end (check the Weekly Podcast btw). However, this section should be waaaaay shorter. We should not speak for so long about each pick and we should have only one pick for reading and one for gonna read.

Finally I quite liked to have different bits for Episode 1 (random person at the beginning, night out at cinema…). I will try to have that again while sticking to the self set rules mentionned above.
