Film Studies – Delicatessen (Butchers & Feelings)
Listen & review on ITunes.
The RPG Academy bonus series “Film Studies” is back (sorry for the delay)!
Once more, Kalum from “The Rolistes Podcast” takes us to France with “Delicatessen” a post-apocalyptic dark comedy from 1991 by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro.
As a reminder, for Film Studies, members of the Network sometimes joined by non-Network guests, will review a film and discuss ways it could inspire tabletop RPG adventures, characters or practices.
Our competent academic team is completed by Bee Zelda from “The Broadswords” and Scott Brown from “Lawful & Orderly”.
Tabletop RPG settings systems and setting mentioned included:
- “Fantaji Universal Role-Playing Game” by Anthropos Games
- “Monster of the Week” by Evil Hat Productions
- “Dread” by The Impossible Dream
- “Dungeon Crawl Classics” by Goodman Games
- “Star Wars – The Roleplaying Game” by West End Games and its “Darkstryder Campaign”
- “Curse of Stradh” by Wizards of the Coast.
The next film in our curriculum will be Neil Jordan‘s “High Spirits” from 1988.
Let us know ahead of the recording about if this one inspired you some tabletop RPG adventures and maybe we will discuss it on the show.
This new series is still in its early stages and we are still fiddling with the format.
Please send us your feedback so we can fine tune it for your enjoyment, to tell us about your own experience with the movies discussed or even suggest films you would like us to cover in future episodes.
If you’d like to purchase a copy of the movie we discuss AND support our show you an use our Amazon.com affiliate link. You can even do so with tabletop RPG purchases via our DriveThru affiliate link.
