Film Studies – El Dia de la Bestia (In Nomine Satanis / Christmas Veritas)
Listen & review on ITunes.
Merry belated Christmas wishes!
The RPG Academy “Film Studies” is back with a post-seasonal episode.
This time, Kalum from “The Rolistes Podcast” takes us to Spain with “El Dia de la Bestia” a very dark NSFW Christmas comedy from 1995 by Alex de la Iglesia.
As a reminder, for Film Studies, members of the Network sometimes joined by non-Network guests, will review a film and discuss ways it could inspire tabletop RPG adventures, characters or practices.
Our competent academic team is completed by Dani Neary from “Tales of Blood & Stone” and Núria Casellas from “Cucafera Games”.
Tabletop RPG settings systems and setting mentioned included:
- “Cypher System” by Monte Cook Games
- “Shadow of the Demon Lord” by Robert J. Schwalb
- “Ragnarok” by Carlos Monzón
- “Aquelarre” by Richard Ibáñez, Antonio Polo& Lester Smith
- “Mutantes en la Sombra” by José Félix Garzón & Igor Arriola
- “In Nomine Satanis / Magna Veritas” by Crocfor Siroz Team
- “Kult: Divinity Lost” by Modiphius
- “Urban Shadows” by Andrew Medeiros and Mark Diaz Truman for Magpie Games
- “Nephilim” by Frederic Weil for Multisimadapted for the US market by Chaosium
- “Dark Earth” by Multisim
The novel “Wings of Twilight” by Hans Cumming was also mentioned.
Please check out “Endless Pass: A Viking Saga” by our guest Núria Casellas for Wizkids.
There has been a change and the next Film Studies will be Groundhog Day with Neverending story after that.
