After an episode of Film Studies helmed by Michael himself, Kalum takes us to a Marvel movie well before the advent of the MCU.
Here's "Blade", the famous trench coat and katana Wesley Snipes vehicle from 1998 directed by Stephen Norrington.
For this journey to the darkest corners of Los Angeles, Kalum is joined by:
- Alex Roberts, author of "Star Crossed", "For The Queen" and "Precious Little Animals" as well as host of Backstory Podcast;
- Erik Bernhardt aka Erik the Bearik, author of the vampire-themed "Brinkwood: Blood of Tyrants".
As usual, we review this film and discuss ways it could inspire tabletop RPG adventures, characters or practices.
Mentioned tabletop RPG settings and systems:
- "Brinkwood: Blood of Tyrants" by Erik Bernhardt for Crone RPG
- "Star Crossed", "For The Queen", "Precious Little Animals" by Alex Roberts
- "Final Lap" by Nicolas 'Gulix' Ronvel
- "GURPS" by Steve Jackson, Sean Punch and David Pulver for Steve Jackson Games
- "Savage Worlds" by Shane Lacy Hensley for Pinnacle Entertainment
- "Fate Core System" by Evil Hat Productions
- "Katanas & Trenchcoats" by Ryan Macklin
- "Night's Black Agents: Solo Ops" by Pelgrane Press
- "Dudes of Legend: How To Be Fucking Awesome" by Chuck Wendig for White Wolf
- "Masks: A New Generation" by Brendan Conway for Magpie Games
- "Vampire The Masquerade" by White Wolf
- "Dragon Age RPG" by Green Ronin Publishing
We got plenty of new Film Studies already recorded but we are not quite sure which one will be edited and released first. You'll have to wait to find out which movie the next episode will be about. I promise it will be very good.
In the meantime make sure to check Alex Roberts' Patreon and to pre-order Brinkwood: The Blood of Tyrants!
Alex has not created a "For The Blade" hack of "For the Queen" yet but feel free to tweet to encourage the creation of one.
See you later for more silver screen extravaganza.
Cheers
Kalum
